The Diocesan Department of Religious Education is a dedicated institution designed to enrich and support the educational initiatives within our local parishes. Our ultimate mission is to fortify the existing educational activities at the parish level and to introduce innovative learning methods while fostering events that center on the spiritual development of parishioners of all ages.

Purpose

At the core of our purpose is the development, execution, and oversight of educational programs and learning experiences within local parishes. The Department of Religious Education is also committed to imparting the fundamental precepts of the Orthodox faith, thereby enabling our faithful to deepen their understanding of the religious beliefs and traditions that characterize the Orthodox Christian faith.

Our objectives and goals are encapsulated in the acronym E-D-U-C-A-T-I-O-N:

Explore new educational programs and methods for our Church communities.

Develop robust educational opportunities for parishioners spanning all age groups.

Unite existing educational events and programs under a shared umbrella to enhance coordination and execution.

Create a positive and inviting learning environment at the local parish and Diocesan levels.

Assist clergy members in achieving their educational goals and ministering effectively.

Train new leaders and educators to serve our Church communities.

Inform church school teachers and parish educators about the latest educational opportunities.

Organize events that promote Christian education and nurture Christian fellowship.

Nurture and uphold the rich Orthodox tradition and values of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
