Dear Families and Friends,
We are excited to announce this year’s Diocesan Summer Camp theme: “The Seven Holy Mysteries: Gifts from God.”
Rooted in the rich tradition of the Orthodox Church, the Seven Holy Mysteries—also known as Sacraments—are God’s gracious gifts designed to help us draw closer to Him. They are not merely symbolic actions or traditions; rather, they are genuine encounters with the living God that sanctify our lives, strengthen our faith, and unite us more deeply with Christ and His Church.
During the camp season, our children will explore each of the Seven Mysteries:
- Baptism– Our rebirth into the life of Christ
- Chrismation– The gift of the Holy Spirit
- Holy Communion– Our union with Christ
- Confession– The healing of our hearts and souls
- Holy Unction– God’s comfort and healing in times of sickness
- Marriage– A sacred union in love and service
- Ordination– The calling to serve God’s people
To help children and families reflect more deeply on these divine gifts, we are excited to introduce a new resource:
🎉 An Interactive Online Flip Book: “The Seven Holy Mysteries: Gifts from God”
This beautifully designed digital book is filled with child-friendly explanations, Scripture verses, illustrations, and interactive questions that encourage families to talk, reflect, and grow together in faith.
📖 This flip book is now available online and was specially designed to support the faith education of children attending our Diocesan Summer Camp. It can be utilized at home, in parish Church School programs, or simply as a way for parents and children to explore the beauty of the Orthodox faith together.
We encourage all parents, godparents, and Church School teachers to explore this flip book with their children and to continue the conversation at home—helping our young ones understand that God is always with them and that His grace is available to them through these life-giving Mysteries.
